Key rings were certainly some of the first marketing giveaways to be born. The industry weighs in at around $1,5 billion.
Although some 2,500 companies work within the courtesy product industry (and consequently with key ring manufacture or distribution), more than 70 tonnes of lost keys are destroyed each year just in France. Many of the finders of these keys would like to return them to their owner but can´t, because they do not know how to contact them.
Two facts are worthy to remember:
1. When utilized, key rings facilitate the transmission of information. On average between 4 and 5 qualitative contacts are made every day ( inscription is reached by eyes and read).
2. To ensure key rings are used, they have to fulfill another function than just keeping keys together. If they can contribute to reducing the risks of losing one keys, then the user and the distributor benefit from them.
